6 Must-Try Vanilla Almond Coffee Recipes For Flavor, Health, And More

8 min read JUL 15, 2025

Vanilla almond coffee?

Do these flavors really work?

In short - Yes!

Vanilla and almond flavors are commonly paired, especially in coffee, as these two tastes serve to complement each other.

Vanilla is a common coffee addition that is naturally smooth, velvety, and it even brings a slight creaminess to your brew.

Then, almonds offer a nutty, buttery flavor that serves to bring out, and even enhance, those natural tastes in coffee we all know and love.

So together, with vanilla’s inherent touch of sweetness and almond’s buttery notes, this combination brings an overall balance to your cup as well as a tantalizingly tasty experience for your taste buds!

But, flavor isn’t the only thing to consider when it comes to your cup.

  • While almond extract doesn’t bring the same health benefits as actual almonds, it does add a wonderful flavor to your cup. Just be sure to skip the imitation extracts and instead opt for pure extracts.
  • Almonds do contain a multitude of health benefits ranging from positive impacts on insulin sensitivity to lowering cholesterol, reducing the risk of heart disease, lowering inflammation, suppressing appetite, and more. Because of these benefits, many folks commonly enjoy adding almond butter to coffee smoothies, shakes, frappes, etc.
  • Vanilla extract (remember, skip those imitation extracts and go for the pure stuff) is also a healthy coffee addition, bringing much more than flavor to your brew. Vanilla is rich in antioxidants, and it possesses anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective properties.
  • Many of the health benefits of vanilla actually mirror those of coffee, so combining these can serve to amplify the health-boosting rewards specific to each of these tasty treats!
  • Beyond its health benefits, vanilla also has a natural sweetness, without actually containing sugar. So, adding vanilla to your brew can enhance the perception of sweetness in your coffee, without the actual addition of sugar, sugar substitutes, etc.

So, now that we’ve seen just how ‘sweet’ this flavor combination is, let’s move into the kitchen and try the following tasty recipes using Lifeboost Vanilla Almond Coffee. Yum!

6 Must-Try Vanilla Almond Coffee Recipes

1- Simply Delicious

One of the things I love most about our Vanilla Almond Coffee is how simple it is to amplify these already-delicious flavors.

Velvety smooth and naturally sweet vanilla, nutty and rich almonds, and bold, clean coffee…these are already a flavorful trifecta, but the easy addition of vanilla almond milk truly helps to make these tastes shine.

Since almond milk contains less protein than dairy milk, this option won’t foam as easily, and for that reason, in this recipe we’re simply going to use this addition as-is.

Of course, we’ll still provide a few topping suggestions for added flavor and flare, but simplicity is the theme here, and I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how delicious simple can be!

**Most stores offer both sweetened and unsweetened varieties of vanilla almond milk. Feel free to use whichever you prefer in this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces cold brewed Lifeboost Vanilla Almond Coffee
  • 4 ounces vanilla almond milk
  • Whipped cream, for topping
  • Sliced almonds, for topping
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Add ice to a large glass, then pour in cold brew and vanilla almond milk. Stir gently to combine.
  • Top with whipped cream and sliced almonds. Enjoy!

**Want to make this simply delicious latte keto-friendly? Try the following substitutions and variations:

Use cold brew as listed above, then opt for unsweetened almond milk instead of vanilla almond milk. Next, add 1 tablespoon MCT oil, ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract, ¼ teaspoon almond extract, and 1 tablespoon monk fruit sweetener for a touch of sweetness. Oh, and skip the whipped cream and sliced almonds. Enjoy!

2- Morning Mojo

Smoothies are a yummy yet filling way to infuse health into your morning routine.

With only a few simple, whole food ingredients, you can transform your usual cup of joe into a thick, satiating, nutrient-packed breakfast.

In other words, instead of having a cup of coffee and a healthy breakfast, you could combine these two health-boosting options into one cup, saving time without sacrificing flavor.

Of course, if you’d like to enjoy an extra cup of joe on the side, we find that to be a perfectly acceptable choice as well!

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 6 ounces cold-brewed Lifeboost Vanilla Almond Coffee
  • 1 ½ frozen bananas, sliced
  • 4 ounces unsweetened almond milk
  • 3 soft, pitted medjool dates
  • 1-2 tablespoons almond butter
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 scoop Lifeboost FitFoam Vanilla protein powder
  • Ice (roughly two handfuls)

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy. Test consistency after blending, and if it is too thick for your liking, add a little more almond milk to thin it out.
  • Divide between two glasses and enjoy!

**Personally, I like a strong coffee flavor in my coffee smoothies, so I use a very strong cold brew concentrate (no dilution) in smoothies.

Then, another way to make the coffee flavor come through more powerfully is to use coffee ice cubes in place of regular ice.

To do so, simply make your cold brew using Lifeboost Vanilla Almond Coffee, then fill an ice cube tray with the prepared cold brew and freeze overnight.

3- Afternoon Delight

From morning smoothies to afternoon treats, the flavors of vanilla and almond combined with coffee provide a naturally smooth and sweet backdrop for the best treats…and here, by treat, I mean a decadent, cool, and refreshing milkshake!

So, if you’re looking for a true cheat meal, a delicious, sweet treat, then look no further!

Ingredients

  • 4-6 ounces cold-brewed Lifeboost Vanilla Almond Coffee
  • 1 cup vanilla bean ice cream
  • ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract
  • Whipped cream, optional for topping

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy.
  • Pour into a tall glass, and top with whipped cream, if desired. Enjoy!

4- Almond-nilla Amaretto

Almond and coffee make the perfect cocktail pair, so of course we had to share a yummy coffee cocktail recipe with you!

Amaretto is a liqueur commonly known for its distinct almond flavor.

What’s intriguing about this selection, however, is despite its slightly bitter almond taste, it’s actually made with apricot kernels and caramelized sugar, not almonds.

Some varieties even use other stone fruits in the making of this Italian liqueur, but still, the classic almond-esque flavor shines through.

So, with that flavor profile, our Vanilla Almond Coffee is the perfect coffee component for both of the following cocktails…that’s right, you’re getting double the tastiness, with two recipes, here!

Full disclosure, one of these is so simple, we just had to provide two options. Enjoy!

Simple Option: Hot Coffee Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces freshly brewed Lifeboost Vanilla Almond Coffee
  • 1-2 tablespoons Amaretto liqueur
  • Whipped cream, optional for topping

Instructions

  • Pour freshly brewed coffee into a large mug, then stir in amaretto.
  • Top with whipped cream, if desired, and enjoy!

Second Option: Iced Coffee Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces cold brewed Lifeboost Vanilla Almond Coffee
  • 2 ounces vanilla almond milk
  • 1 ounce Amaretto liqueur
  • 1 ounce Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur
  • ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Sliced almonds
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Add heavy cream, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar to a chilled bowl and beat with a mixer until soft peaks form, then set aside.
  • Add ice, cold brew, almond milk, and liqueurs to a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously to combine.
  • Add a small amount of ice to a tall glass, then strain the cocktail from the shaker over the ice.
  • Top with prepared whipped cream, then sprinkle with sliced almonds. Enjoy!

5- VAC Coffee

Vanilla. Almond. Chocolate. Coffee.

Need I say more?

Vanilla, almond, and chocolate are a classic, even popular, flavor combination when it comes to any kind of sophisticated sweet treat or dessert.

And, that’s just another thing I love about coffee.
When combining these flavors with your brew, you can enjoy typical, even decadent, dessert tastes without the caloric price tag!

Sure, you can sugar-up your cup as well, if you’d like, but you can also savor popular dessert flavors with simple additions to your morning (or any time of day) brew.

And, that’s just what we’re doing here, taking our summer classic, Lifeboost Vanilla Almond Coffee, and combining these decadent flavors with a little cocoa for a truly magnificent cup!

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces strongly brewed Lifeboost Vanilla Almond Coffee
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 2 teaspoons pure maple syrup
  • ½-1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder, plus a pinch for garnish

Instructions

  • Add almond milk, maple syrup, and cocoa powder to a small saucepan and heat over low-medium heat, whisking continually to fully incorporate the cocoa powder and maple syrup.
  • Heat just until warmed through and all ingredients are combined.
  • Once heated, set aside.
  • Brew coffee and pour into a large mug.
  • Froth the heated almond milk mixture until velvety, smooth, and frothy.
  • Top hot coffee with vanilla almond cocoa foam. Dust with a pinch of cacao powder, if desired, and enjoy!

6- Chocolate Almond Mocha

How about one more chocolate almond coffee concoction before we close things out?

If you’ve ever tried chocolate almond milk, then you know this offering to be thick, rich, decadent, and smooth, typically combining dark chocolate and almond milk, making this the perfect addition to Vanilla Almond Coffee as these flavors seem to scream “hey, I’m not actually a dessert, but you’re gonna think I am!”

And, since we’ll be including a rich vanilla syrup in this one, you can adjust the amount of syrup here to make this one a true dessert, or simply one in disguise.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces cold brewed Lifeboost Vanilla Almond Coffee
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate almond milk (I generally use Silk brand for this)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla syrup (see recipe below)
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Add ice to a tall glass, then top with cold brew, dark chocolate almond milk, and vanilla syrup.
  • Stir to combine, then enjoy!

Homemade Vanilla Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • ¾ cup cane sugar
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Add water and sugars to a medium saucepan and heat over medium heat, stirring continually until sugars are dissolved.

Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes.

Remove from heat, then cool completely.

Once cooled, stir in vanilla extract.

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
